Project Overview

This page provides high-level information about an ongoing residential garage conversion and full HVAC system upgrade in Black Diamond, Washington.

The goal is to convert a portion of the attached garage into conditioned mechanical/shop space and replace the existing HVAC system with a properly designed, high-efficiency dual-fuel heat pump system.

Key Scope

Conditioning approximately 489 sq ft of the existing attached garage into a mechanical room / shop
Full HVAC system redesign and replacement for the entire home (target ~3,600–3,730 sq ft conditioned load)
New dual-fuel heat pump system (heat pump + gas furnace backup)
Balanced ventilation (ERV) on both floors
All new ductwork located inside conditioned space
Code-compliant work under current Washington State energy code
